Review: 'What a breath of fresh air, even more so that it is not "fresh". What I mean is this is a song and group from a distant past that "Should have been"--in other words, this is a song and group, I should have known. It is great on so many levels--structure, style, presentation, and execution is in a word, "perfect". Not only is a great example of R&B fused with Funk, but it explores beyond the "typical" R&B sound and brings in even more of the rest of the world("Spanish" progressions, Arabic keys, etc). All the way from the beginning riff/vamp, which is progressed quite nicely throughout yet never loses the integrity of the original. Add to this a very soulful and broad and yet still perfectly "gritty" voice and you have a song that is a shining example of what Funk should have become... Thank you for sharing this with me, you have a new fan :)
